Job Description:
Within the ITS Faculty Technology Resources group: work with faculty to effectively use Blackboard and other instructional technologies in their teaching; work with other ITS units and other campus organizations to make Blackboard Learning System available to faculty, students and staff; assess training needs and assist with the coordination and execution of training for instructors and designers using Blackboard Learning System (fully online, hybrid and face to face); facilitate best practices training sessions for faculty using course management software for hybrid and fully online uses of Blackboard; provide instructional design and technological support for faculty using technology in instruction; Manage Blackboard list serve, related web sites and print materials; participate in rotation schedule for processing Blackboard faculty help requests; collaborate with other ITS units and campus organizations and faculty to assess need for and conduct research on other instructional technology tools; support other Faculty Technology Resources initiatives (i.e., programs, special projects, etc.); participate in committees and workgroups; Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Required: Bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by a US Dept. of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization; Minimum 3 years professional experience in the development and delivery of presentations, workshops and/or trainings in an educational setting; Understanding of pedagogical issues related to technology-enhanced teaching and learning; Experience in web development and web site maintenance; Demonstrated understanding of multimedia tools (i.e., Flash, Photoshop); Excellent communication skills (oral and written). Preferred: Bachelor's degree and/or Master's degree in Instructional Design, Curriculum Development or a related discipline; Experience working with faculty in a teaching/learning environment; Experience using a course management system for instruction and/or training; Demonstrated experience managing course management software preferably Blackboard Learning System CE or WebCT Campus Edition 6; Help Desk experience.
